Herm Elenbaas,
Owner / General Manager

Herm got his start in Christian radio as a volunteer with Trans World Radio in Bonaire in 1972, then worked at KOQT-Bellingham, Washington, WFUR AM/FM in Grand Rapids, Michigan and WKPR-AM in Kalamazoo, Michigan before moving to KURL Radio in 1982 as manager. Herm has owned KURL since 1994 and purchased KMZK in 1997. KURL and KMZK are the only locally-owned & operated radio or TV stations in Billings. Herm and his wife, Sheila have been married 31 years and have 4 children.

 

John Black,
Program  Director, music director and morning drive announcer.

John has spent more than 45 years in broadcasting, the last 12 at KURL. In 1959 he signed on the first Christian radio station in Montana at Belgrade. For ten years he worked as a reporter for the 700 Club from Washington, D.C. and held news credentials for the White House, Congress and the US Supreme Court. John was also a news anchor for International Media Service, a network of more than 200 Christian radio stations. John and his wife, Irene have four children and 7 grandchildren.

 

Holly Howard, afternoon announcer & public service director

Holly has been a familiar voice on KURL and KMZK for several years as a part time announcer and now we're delighted to have her on board full-time and as your afternoon and early evening host. You can email Holly with your public service announcements and church information at news@kurlradio.com

Deb Padilla
Office Manager

Deb is the newest addition to the staff at KURL/KMZK. Deb came to us with 20 years previous clerical experience with Super Value, Deaconess -Billings Clinic, Waggoners Trucking and Secor/ATC. Deb and her husband David love Christian music and have served as worship leaders in the past. They have three children and four grandchildren.
